I hear from loyal readers on a regular basis telling me they’ve clicked on a link and it doesn’t work. It could be in a tweet, in an e-mail blast or something on the Web site. Some of them are truly broken and I need to fix them. If it is a link to another Web site, it could be the page has disappeared (and out of my control).
There was a situation last week where one of our sites was dead for about an hour. In that case, nothing would have worked and we were able to get the site back up. When there is an issue in the Graphics Unleashed Blog e-mail or the Graphics Unleashed Newsletter e-mail, it could be that something installed on your system is blocking the link. Each of the links is modified by the e-mail service so it can track the number of times links are clicked. It is fairly rare, but some anti-virus software will mark the links as bad even though they are just fine.
In other cases, just waiting even a couple of minutes can be all that is needed. I had some loyal readers contact me about links in a tweet and a blog post and I tested both of them and they worked just fine. So they just happened to click at a bad time. This isn’t only true of links to my sites, it is true of anything on the Web. There are bumps along the information superhighway that magically solve themselves fairly quickly.
There will likely be some broken links as we have moved thousands of pages in the past year from the unleash.com domain to our new sites. So if you want to try again, visit the Graphics Unleashed Blog, CorelDRAW Unleashed, Vehicle Templates Unleashed, Seamless Textures Unleashed or Web Design Solutions Unleashed. It might just be the content was moved and a link hasn’t been updated yet. If you do find a bad link, please let me know and I’ll try to get it fixed.
