Roku Streaming Stick Brings Favorite Services to TV

My loyal readers have probably heard more than they want about my love of the Jayhawks. Most of their basketball games are on a cable television channel. Six games a season are on one of the ESPN streaming channels each year unless you live near the college campus.

I’ve typically watched those games on my computer, but I would prefer watching them on the television. Yes, I could run an HDMI cable from my laptop to the TV. But even that isn’t as convenient as I’d like.

Therefore I purchased a solution. Note that I am going to provide Amazon links to the product for which I receive a small commission. I’ve received nothing from Roku in compensation. The solution I purchased is the Roku Streaming Stick. It supports the ESPN streaming service I need for my games. But that is only a small part of what it delivers.

Along with the stick itself is a remote control. There is also an iOS or Android app to control it with your smartphone or tablet. As it is so small, you can take it with you to a hotel or any other location you visit that has WiFi. This is great for me if I happen to be on the road for one of the games I need to stream. As an Amazon Prime member, I’m sure I’ll also take advantage of more content provided as part of the service.
