Sometimes there is a benefit to being considered media. I write a lot about Corel’s products and that means I often get software before it is available to the general public. Today I received copies of the “bonus” discs that come with the boxed version of CorelDRAW X3. I’ll do my best to describe what is available.
Corel claims more than 10,000 all new pieces of clipart. There are something like 10,600 if we want to be exact. Some of these images were created by Corel while others are supplied by leading clipart manufacturers such as Digital Art Solutions, Clipart deSIGN, DEX Images, One Mile Up, MR Moebes & Ratajczak and more. Many of the images are industry specific. If you want flames for cutting vinyl, you’ve got it. Do you need bus graphics for displaying the vehicle graphic you’ve designed? Yup, got those too. Promotional product templates for adding your artwork? Yes, those are included. Plus a ton of good images. All in all, probably the most complete collection of clipart Corel has ever offered.
If you are a ROMCat user, we’ve already posted the catalog for CorelDRAW X3. If you aren’t a ROMCat user, you can get this wonderful program for searching clipart. Both the program and catalogs can be found at https://coreldrawunleashed.com/store/romcat-clip-art-utility/
There are 250 bitmap tiles and 294 new vector pattern fills. I’m overjoyed to see some useful patterns included.
The fonts are all new and all in OpenType format. That is awesome.
Now for the downside. The photos are the same that were included with both CorelDRAW 11 and CorelDRAW 12. I sure hope these will see a revamp with the next version.
Overall, the additions to the clipart and fills are a good reason to give this version serious consideration.
As I get more information on the new version, I’ll get it posted as soon as possible.
