There are three major search engines out there: Google, Yahoo and MSN. We all know that Google has a big lead. Of course there is always talk that Yahoo or MSN has made a change that will help them to compete. It just seems it is nothing more than talk. Google is used as a verb. I’ve yet to hear the others used in that way.
This week I was around a number of other computer users at the PowerPoint Live conference. I saw those users going to Google in the help center to look things up. I heard the presenters telling people to “google” something they were talking about. But I also saw something that told me the search wars are over. I saw the Microsoft employees looking things up on Google. If your own employees aren’t using your product, the game is over.
