When I was in school, my math classes would occasionally require me to create a graph showing various data points of an equation plotted. I even remember writing a program on our Univac 1100 showing the plot of a sine wave. Both of those projects were a lot of work.
Now there is an easy way to plot most any mathematical equation in CorelDRAW. You might not need this for homework. Instead, it may just help you to create a cool graphic. Oberon Function Plotter allows you to type in the equation and it will output the results of a CorelDRAW graphic. It even allows you to bring in a data table from Microsoft Excel and have it plotted. I only wish this was able to help me with my homework oh so many years ago.
