Hump Day Hardware: CyberPower High-Speed 7-Port USB Hub

March 18, 2009

I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of USB devices. The back of my computer has four USB ports and the front has two more. Yet that isn’t even close to enough for my needs as I have at least four more devices plugged in at all times.

The only way to satisfy the need for more ports is to get an external USB hub. For me, there are two very important features. It must be powered or there is not enough power for the attached devices. It also must support USB 2.0 so the devices can work at their full speed.

Recently I needed to get a new hub and decided on the CyberPower High-Speed 7-Port USB Hub. It meets the two features mentioned above, gives me three ports on each side and one smack dab in the middle that is perfect for data keys. All this for under $30. All I can tell you is that I ordered it, I plugged it in, I plugged in four devices and everything is working great.
