Santa Claus only has one more day to get his sleigh loaded down with goodies for his Christmas special delivery. That means I have one last suggestion for your wish list before the holiday. While you can’t beat the quality of a Digital SLR camera, it is also handy to have a point and shoot camera for times when you don’t have all of your gear with you. I know that I’d love to find a Canon PowerShot SD940IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera in my stocking! Just from the name, you can tell it shoots up to 12.1 megapixels. It also has a 4x optical zoom that also shoots wide angle. Want to shoot HD movies? It does that in 720p and connects via HDMI to your television for playback. And it only weighs four ounces. All in all, it is a very nice camera to carry in your pocket!

I was reading a review on this camera on Amazon and the writer stated that the battery must be removed for charging and you can’t charge through USB. My wife has a Casio with the same battery set up, and it is a real pain, because you have to remember to reset the date when you put the battery back in. If you don’t the pics all have the wrong date.
Philip,
I have owned several different Canon cameras over the years. While the models I have can be charged in the camera, I have always taken them out and charged them in a separate charger. Never once have I had to reset the time on those cameras.
While I have not tried this particular camera myself, I find it hard to believe that the time would need to be reset every time the battery was charged. If that were the case, I would think there would be many more complaints about it in the reviews.
