Alternative Choices for Font Management

March 13, 2010

Last week I told you my choice for font management software was FontExpert 2009. Several loyal readers have commented that they liked other products. I have not tested any of the other products suggested, but I thought I’d pass along links to these products so that you can check them out if you don’t feel FontExpert is the right tool for you.

Each of these products has its pros and cons. Personally, none of them measure up to FontExpert 2009 and that’s why I featured it last week. If there are other products not listed here, pass along information on your favorite as a comment.

Do you have a preferred software or method for find a font that say a client brings in from a logo or item they created or had created somewhere else?

    Duane,

I really love a product called Font Expert (not the same as the FontExpert 2009 for font management). Unfortunately it is no longer available. Free tools like “WhatTheFont” killed the market for commercial tools like Font Expert. Sadly WTF doesn’t do nearly as good a job.

A number of spammers are posting comments on a daily basis. I’m sorry, but we don’t allow your spam on this blog. To real human readers, I’m sorry that I have to post this comment. I can guarantee you the junk the spammers are trying to post has absolutely nothing to do with this blog.

As of November 17, 2012 we will no longer allow comments on this specific post due to the crazy number of spammy comments we receive on a daily basis. To be clear, we receive AT LEAST ten spammy comments every single day trying to sell counterfit purses and athletic apparel. Clearly they have absolutely nothing to do with the information covered in the post.
