Camtasia Studio 7

March 20, 2010

As I build the CorelDRAW Unleashed ebooks, there are a number of tools that are essential to me. Obviously the latest version of CorelDRAW and Corel PHOTO-PAINT are used to create and massage the graphics. Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign allow me to create the text and layout the pages. One of the most important tools is Camtasia Studio as I use it to create the video tutorials included with the ebooks.

If you follow the Camtasia Studio link in the next few days, you’ll notice it talks about v6. This post is to let you know that Camtasia Studio 7 will be released on March 30. I’m really excited as I will have the new version in time to use it for the video tutorials included with the CorelDRAW X5 Unleashed books.

The folks over at TechSmith have released a couple of videos to whet your appetite for Camtasia Studio 7 (and cake). I’m going to embed each of them below.

I agree that they don’t provide many details on the new versions. I can only suggest you keep an eye on the Camtasia Studio product page and the Visual Lounge blog to get more details as they are released.

There was also an excellent video posted including tips for audio and voice overs. Just as important as recording the video for my tutorials is the audio portion where you hear me explaining what I’m doing. I picked up some great tips and so I’m also going to share that video below for those who are producing audio.

For those needing to produce screen recordings, you definitely want to give Camtasia Studio a long look. I’ve been using it for over ten years and just love what it can do. And even if you buy it now, you’ll get a free upgrade to version 7 when it is released in the near future.
