Skype

April 10, 2010

Sometimes I avoid talking about a particular utility because I think everyone already knows about it. Skype is one of those utilities, but I thought I’d give it a brief look for those who haven’t tried it. Skype allows you to place calls from your computer or even from some mobile phones. The calls can be placed to other Skype accounts or to most any phone number worldwide. If you only call from computer to computer, the call is completely free.

Not only can you place a call with audio, you can also include video if you have a Webcam available. This is a really handy feature if you are from away from someone and you are able to do a free video call. I’ll often use Skype to talk to contacts all over the world. Download your free copy and give it a try if you haven’t already.
