An Alternate Way of Marquee Selecting

June 24, 2010

Most CorelDRAW users know all about marquee selecting with the Pick tool in CorelDRAW. Using the Pick tool you click and drag a rectangle around everything you want to select. There is a hidden trick that isn’t as well known. Hold down the Alt key while marquee selecting and you will select everything you surround or touch. This can be handy when you are in a tight spot and don’t have a way to surround everything.

    Hi Foster,
Yeah this is certainly a handy way of selecting in certain situations. Sometimes I feel there should be some kind of a button on property to make it a default behavior of selecting so that you don’t have to press Alt key every time. BTW This is the default way of selecting in Illustrator and Freehand.

Woo-hoo! Thanks for this tip. I’ve looked for a way to do this for four years now…!
