CorelDRAW X5 Service Pack 1 Notes and Special Deals

July 27, 2010

Yesterday I posted that Corel has released Service Pack 1 for CorelDRAW X5. I listed all of the fixes that Corel provided to me. Many users have e-mailed me asking about things that are not on that list. “Did this fix this or that?” The short answer is that I don’t know if they fixed the particular issue that is bugging you. There are hundreds of fixes included that are not on the list I posted. Many of those are issues reported by end users via Corel Technical Support or in the discussion forums. The best way to find out if something has been fixed is to download and install the service pack. I have asked Corel to provide me with a more complete list of the fixes and I will post it if I can get my hands on it. Corel is planning a second service pack to address more issues. I don’t know when it will be available though you shouldn’t expect it anytime soon.

Some of you have not yet upgraded to CorelDRAW X5. Maybe you haven’t seen a reason to upgrade and maybe you were just waiting for the service pack to be released so you could put it on your production machines. First, let me remind you of several previous blog posts providing you with reasons to upgrade.

Once you’ve had a chance to read those posts about some of the reasons you should upgrade, I’ll give you some extra incentive in the way of special offers. First, those of you in North America can save 10% when you purchase by using the coupon code of UNLEASHEDSUN and you can get free shipping (if the order is over $99) with the code COREL99. The coupon codes expire at the end of July 2010 so you only have a few days left. Corel has also upped the deal by including my CorelDRAW X5 Unleashed Multimedia Training if you purchase before the end of July 2010. This applies to the CorelDRAW X5 upgrade as well as the CorelDRAW X5 full version. I would appreciate if you use the links provided in the last sentence as I do get a commission if you purchase through those links. That gives you a way to thank me for providing these deals and all of the other information in this blog. For those of you outside of North America, I’m sorry that these deals won’t work for you. I am always asking Corel for something to offer you and I will keep asking. I just don’t have anything for you now.
