When you initially open a photo in Corel PHOTO-PAINT, it is a “Background” object. I find it extremely useful to convert the background into an object (Object | Create | From Background) before applying changes. I’ll give a few examples of where this is useful.
If you rotate the image, you won’t have a background color added.
Applying the Frame effect (Effects | Creative | Frame) will not have a background color added.
Enlarging the Paper Size (Image | Paper Size) will not have a background color added.
See a pattern there? That’s right, no background color. Give it a try if you aren’t doing it already and I think you’ll find it a huge time saver.
