I’ve already specified a lot of the parts that go inside of Dream Computer 2011. What I have picked in a case to hold all the parts we have on our list. One of the issues that is most prevalent in powerful computers today is the heat generated. Thus we need a case that keeps everything as cool as possible. That can be done with fans or you can use more exotic technologies like water cooling. While I’m all for building the most powerful computer possible, I also want to keep it as simple as possible.
Not only do we want the case to be functional, we also want something that looks nice on or under our desks. I went with the Corsair CC800DW Obsidian 800D Black Alumimum Full Tower ATX Enthusiast Case. It has great cooling, is very sturdy and makes it as easy as possible to install drives and the motherboard. I find it to be attractive without drawing a lot of attention. While it isn’t a necessity, I like having a window in the case to see the innards. If nothing else, you can see if dust is starting to build up inside the case. This isn’t the cheapest case available, but it is a darned good case!
