Corel Corporation Buys Bibble Labs — Photo Workflow Tool Coming Soon

January 7, 2012

I’ve been a big fan of Bibble Pro for a number of years. More recently, I wrote about it last January. For users who need to process RAW files, it is very powerful and insanely fast. Earlier today, Jeff Stephens of Bibble Labs made the shocking announcement that Corel purchased Bibble Labs some time ago and they’ve been working together to create a photo workflow tool to be announced at the Consumer Electronics Show next week. It will be interesting to see what they announce.

One of the biggest questions for me is how this could affect future versions of the CorelDRAW Graphics Suite. The RAW Lab included in X4 and X5 is pretty slow and has somewhat limited camera support. For that reason, I’ve always turned to Bibble Pro for my conversions. Could the Bibble technology be somehow integrated into the CorelDRAW Graphics Suite? Time will tell.
