eCut 5.0 for CorelDRAW

March 5, 2012

The creation of artwork to be cut from vinyl or a CNC router is a very common usage of CorelDRAW. While CorelDRAW is great at creating the necessary artwork, it doesn’t have the built in functionality to talk to these output devices. For that, you’ll need some sort of intermediary software and that’s what eCut 5.0 for CorelDRAW provides.

Many of the packages that allow CorelDRAW to talk to cutters can be expensive. When they aren’t expensive, they have very limited functionality. eCut 5.0 provides a ton of features at a very reasonable cost. One of the most important functions is nesting. This arranges your artwork so that you get the most efficient use of the material you are cutting.

You’ll also find functionality for working with LEDs and Neon. Other effects include shadow, drop shadow, extrude, advanced contour, trim, slice and more that are optimized for cutting. Sure, CorelDRAW has a drop shadow feature that creates a soft bitmap. That doesn’t help users who are cutting and eCut gives you a shadow that will cut.

I’ve only scratched the surface of the features included in this add-on, so make sure to check out the eCut 5.0 product page to see everything it can do for you!
