QR Creator Macro and QR Code Docker for CorelDRAW

I’ve written before that CorelDRAW’s Barcode Wizard is missing the popular QR Codes. Third parties are well aware of this limitation and there are now two possible solutions for creating QR Codes inside of CorelDRAW.

QR Creator Macro is designed to work in both CorelDRAW X5 and X6. It has been released as a free macro under the GNU license. QR Code Docker will only work in CorelDRAW X6, but it has the advantage of working inside of a custom Docker. You’ll also find more options available in the QR Code Docker (shown at right). It is currently in an open beta and there is no cost associated to use it at this time.

There are certainly other developers with ideas for barcode improvements. Should other options become available, I’ll pass them along.

  1. None of this seems to work

  2. John, you may want to read an old post at http://graphics-unleashed.unleash.com/2011/03/it-doesnt-work.html

It is impossible to give you any suggestions if you can’t even tell us what isn’t working.

  3. I searched for other way of creating QR code in X3 besides inserting online-generated bitmap.
Will this macro work with Corel DRAW X3?

It only works in CorelDRAW X6. CorelDRAW X3 is celebrating its tenth birthday this year, it might be time for you to upgrade.

  4. CorelDraw is no longer missing anything. Now you can easily create QR codes using this: http://www.coreldraw.com/en/pages/qr-code/index.html and add them yo your products

You do realize this post was written five years ago? It is still the only answer that worked on CorelDRAW X6 and is still far superior to the feature Corel added in newer versions as it does NOT require an Internet connection.
