Last week I suggested you Delete Temp Files to Prevent Crashes and Increase Speed. My instructions showed you how to do it using the Disk Cleanup utility supplied with Windows. In the comments on the Graphics Unleashed Facebook page, it was suggested that CCleaner is another tool that will help remove the unneeded temp files.
Just saying that CCleaner can remove temp files wouldn’t do it service as it does much more. It is certainly a tool that I use on my own systems to help get rid of extra junk. That includes files from mainstream browsers, Windows files and even the registry. For me, it is the cleaning of the registry where it is most handy for me.
When you run CCleaner, you can decide what you want to clean and what areas you want it to ignore. You’ll definitely want to download and install a copy. Rather than doing one massive cleaning pass, you may want to clean only a few things at each pass so you can see just how well it works for you. Once you understand what each area of the program does, go ahead and clean more things at once. You’ll definitely find CCleaner is a very important tool in your system maintenance toolbox.
