Over the years there have been a lot of changes to cameras. Yet one thing has never really changed. Before taking the shot, you have to focus on the subject of the image. Sure, there is auto-focus on many cameras. But what if the auto-focus doesn’t focus on the right subject? No matter the reason for being out of focus, you end up with a blurry image.
So how would you like to have a digital camera where you could focus the image on your computer long after the picture was taken? That’s exactly what happens with the Lytro Light Field Camera.
If you have shot RAW images with a DSLR, you already know about processing images in the computer later. While RAW files allow for all kinds of adjustments, they don’t allow you to refocus on any part of the image you like. I don’t expect that this camera will replace your DSLR, but it does give you something to complement it. This is definitely camera technology you’ll want to follow.
