Did you eat too much for Thanksgiving? I sure did and I’m sure that many of you feel that way. I could ask a question like “do you too many fonts installed?” and I’m guessing most of you would also answer in the affirmative.
So after a day known for gluttony at the dinner table, I’m going to ask you to put your font list on a diet rather than giving you more free fonts to clutter up the list. This certainly isn’t the only time I’ve covered the subject. Most recently I wrote Managing Your Fonts Can Speed Up CorelDRAW. While the title refers to CorelDRAW, the same information is true of all of your software and Windows in general.
Take a few minutes today and see if you can trim 100, 200 or even more fonts from your list. As you look through the list, ask yourself if you’ve used a font in the last three months. If you haven’t used it in the last 90 days, you certainly don’t need it installed all the time. Sure, re-install it down the road if you truly need it. But by uninstalling fonts not used in the past 90 days, I bet your list will become much shorter.
Not sure how to do it? We have a tutorial, The Last Word in Font Management, that gives you a good overview.
