At the beginning of each year, resolutions are made to lose weight and/or get in better shape. Gyms see a huge increase in membership sales at the beginning of each year thanks to this trend. How big is it? Americans spent $62 billion in 2011 on “health club memberships, weight-loss programs, exercise tapes, diet sodas and the like.” Sadly four out of five gym memberships are not used regularly.
So instead of spending money on a resolution that so often fails, have you considered resolving to learn more about CorelDRAW in 2013? There is no doubt that your health is important. Yet being more accomplished in CorelDRAW can help you complete more jobs and therefore earn more money. Heck, you can use that extra time and money to get a gym membership after you’ve already learned CorelDRAW!
Unfortunately I find that most users truly have little desire to learn the ins and outs of CorelDRAW. Last November, I told you about the brand new user who felt they only had to learn two things. Users who truly want to learn can probably pick up two new things every single day.
I’ve met users who tell me how they have just purchased a business where CorelDRAW is used to create artwork for output. No matter their output device, the most critical part of the process is creating quality artwork. Yet in almost all cases, those same users flat out have zero desire to learn anything about CorelDRAW.
The users who do seem to want to learn are always looking for a shortcut to learning everything they need to know. If you don’t know how to create the right artwork, the output will always be wrong.
Often I have users who want to do the same thing a macro can automate. Yet they have no desire to learn how to do it manually either. Folks, spend a little bit of time learning and you can save a ton of time down the road! Users tend to spend a huge amount of time trying to do it for “free” when even a very small investment would provide an immediate solution.
Those are just a few of the stories I run across on a daily basis. It can get very frustrating at times when I know I have the perfect solution. Yes, the solution has a small cost associated with it. That’s my job after all. Yes, you have to take the time to study and practice. The payoff is creating better artwork in less time!
