Putting the Computer Parts Together Into a Powerhouse Machine

April 10, 2013

Parts of a Powerhouse ComputerOver the last few months I’ve covered a number of the parts that go into building a powerhouse computer. Today I wanted to bring all of those parts together so that you have a list to follow as you build your new workhorse.

First, we need a case to hold all the components. Make Your Computer Sing With Thermaltake New Soprano Case

A case won’t do you any good if there isn’t any power to light up the components you’ve chosen. Provide Adequate Power to Your Computer

Now we need to add the heart of soul of the computer with a mother board and CPU.Take a Bite of Speed With ASUS Sabertooth X79 Motherboard You’ve gotta have a place to store the data being processed so we’ll load up our machine with RAM. Fill Up Your Screaming Fast Computer With RAM

Now we need a way to process pixels and display them on a monitor. Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 Ti Graphics Card

Before I get into the drives, it is important to to understand how to setup your system to get screaming fast drive performance as well as adequate storage for a decent price. Setting Up a Windows Computer From Scratch

After reading that, you understand why you’ll want both an SSD drive and a mechanical hard drive. I suggest Samsung 840 Pro 6 GB/S SATA SSD Drive and Seagate Barracuda 3TB SATA Hard Drive.

I still feel it is very important to have an optical drive for reading and writing CDs and DVDs. Speed Up DVD Activity With Samsung SH-222BB

You may certainly decide to go with different components from what I’ve suggested, but this list gives you a good starting point on what you might need.
