You’ve got a Web site and you have even set up the free Google Analytics service to measure the traffic to the site. Heck, maybe the person who set up your Web site set up Google Analytics for you.
You log in to Google Analytics and there is a wall of data about your Web traffic and it overwhelms you so you don’t return again or at least very often. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone would just e-mail you an infographic every week highlighting the data for you?
That’s exactly what visual.ly will do for you. Look at the graphic above right and you’ll see a small portion of one of the weekly Infographics I’ve received about our site. Before you complain about the text being too small to read, I’ve reduced the size of the graphic to display it here. Everything is very easy to read. So how do you get one of these cool infographics every week?
First, you’ll need to go to the visual.ly site and sign up for it. It is free, but you do need to create an account with them. You’ll also have to give visual.ly permission to access your Google Analytics data. Instructions on the site describe exactly how to do this. Then it is time to wait for the infographic e-mail to start arriving. I’ve only shown a small portion of the report you’ll receive. What they provide is a great overview of your site for the previous week. If you want more data, you can log into Google Analytics and dig as deep as you want.
