Growing up in Kansas City, I got a chance to eat at several of the world’s best barbecue restaurants. To this day, Gates Bar-B-Q is my favorite and I encourage you all to give it a try if you are visiting Kansas City. And to those who are in Kansas City, I know there are several other amazing places that may rank higher on your personal list.
The reason I wanted to talk briefly about Gates is their tagline “Hi, May I Help You?” The minute you walk in the door, one of the employees will shout that phrase at you. Most of the time several of them will yell it at you. I once went to a location and nobody yelled at me. Soon the manager was having a chat with the employees about the importance of that phrase.
A couple of months ago in One Door Is Closing, Another to Be Opened I told you that CorelDRAW X6 Unleashed would be the last book I would be writing on CorelDRAW. I also said that I didn’t know exactly what direction would come next. So today I’m asking…
Hi, May I Help You?
It seems like I come up with new ideas for things to do nearly every day. There is no doubt some of them are good ideas and it is also quite possible some are bad ideas. Rather than me simply guessing about ways I can help you, I want you to tell me directly: how I can be of help.
Do you have a graphics project where I could be of assistance? Do you need training for your staff or your customers? Do you need someone to help with your Web site or your social media presence? Those are just a few ideas and I’m certainly open to other suggestions where you think I can help you.
Ideally I do want monetary compensation for my help. But I will at least listen to your ideas that don’t involve a direct payment. If you don’t mind sharing with everyone, post your ideas as a comment. Of course you can also e-mail or call me directly. Thanks!
