A couple of months ago, I gave you Five Tips For Getting Started on Twitter. Now that you’ve had some time to get your account set up and get to tweeting, it is time to see exactly how your tweets are performing.
I recently found a cool site called Twitonomy that provides very detailed analytics on your account. Like many sites, there are reports that you can get for free as well as even more for a fee. I was pleasantly surprised at the details it provided for free so you’ll definitely want to run it against your account or the account of someone else. A small sampling of the reports can be seen in the graphic at right.
You’ll find what tweets got your followers attention as well as what followers interacted with you the most. Of course it also shows what users got you to mention or retweet them. Heck, it will even show you a map with pushpins for the location of users who mentioned you. This alone shows how your tweets can be seen all over the world. I had mentions from every continent except Antarctica, at least a couple of dozen countries as well as numerous states within the US.
At this point I’ve only scratched the surface of the reports that I can generate from Twitonomy, but I’ll definitely spend more time exploring my own account and those of others. Give it a try as there is an awful lot you can do for free!
