If you spend a fair amount of time manipulating graphics on a computer, a gift of software or hardware could be just what you desire. Looking back over the posts I’ve done this year, I found some really cool hardware and/or software you may want to add to your gift list or for someone who loves graphics as much as you.
A few days ago I told you about Auto FX Photographic Edges. Along with the edges, the rest of the Auto FX family of plug-ins would make a great gift. Earlier this year I told you how Google Lowers Price of Full Nik Collection of Plug-ins. This is another great collection and the price for the entire collection is a real bargain. One of my most used plug-ins is Alien Skin Eye Candy 7 and I wrote about it back in July. An HDR tool is also a great gift for someone into photography so look over HDR Software Tools Redux and Photomatix Pro 4 for some suggestions.
Want to make it easier to draw on your computer? Then you really need to look at getting a Wacom tablet. I described the whole line in Wacom Introduces New Lines of Graphics Tablets and a Tablet Computer. Don’t confuse these with the tablets you use to run apps, read ebooks and surf the Web. They are a completely different type of product and they also make good gifts. Yes, there are iPads though I’ll admit I don’t lust after an iPad at all. What tablets excite me the most? Amazon’s new line of Kindle HDX tablets and the revised Kindle Fire HD provide great bang for the buck. Don’t be surprised if Amazon has a special Black Friday deal on these hot tablets. Yet it is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition that really gets me excited. You might see older versions of Samsung’s tablets with a very similar name and a much lower price. If that meets your needs, go for it. Just make sure you aren’t overlooking all the great features of the latest version from Samsung.
Hopefully that gives you some good ideas for your holiday shopping whether it is a gift for yourself or for someone else. I know these are all gifts that would make me very happy to receive!
