I do my very best each day to provide each of you with information to help you be more productive. Many of my posts specifically address problems that are brought to my attention. It is extremely frustrating to me when I hear that someone is continually having the same problems for which I’ve posted a solution. Especially when a solution takes only a few seconds.
If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer for your Web browsing, please do yourself a favor and read Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 Is Evil and How to Fix It!
I feel the best solution is to use a different browser, but if you must use Internet Explorer you simply need to modify one checkbox to make it work without errors.
Yes, this error is a problem when you are trying to use the shopping cart on Graphics Unleashed. But it also is a problem with many other Web sites. I was reminded of this by a good friend earlier this week.
This friend works for a Fortune 50 US Corporation and his company had purchased some online training (nothing involved us at Graphics Unleashed). Employees were very frustrated that they were unable to get this training to work. My friend remembered what I had written about the problems with Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 and made the suggested change. After making this change, everything worked as expected.
With their huge number of employees, how many hours of time were wasted because of this flawed setting in Internet Explorer? How much did this flaw cost this huge corporation? I don’t know the answer to those questions, but I know it was all solved by unchecking one box.
While this error does cause issues on Graphics Unleashed, it also causes problems on many major Web sites. Please save yourself the lost time and headaches caused by this flaw and change the one setting or simply use a different browser. All of this is explained at Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 Is Evil and How to Fix It!
I just found that IE11 asks you if you want to use some security setting and compatibility lists the first time you start it up. But I am not sure if this was there from the beginning or if it was added as an update somewhere along the way, as I normally do not use IE11. If you choose NOT to use the settings then the compatibility option will not be checked.
That sounds as if it is something new and it is good to have it there. Unfortunately most users wouldn’t know what to choose. The word “compatibility” implies it will work better when it has the exact opposite effect. Microsoft just fails miserably at Internet browsers.
It also said something about security settings too. So most users would probably choose to enable it just because of that. There was only once choice to enable it all, with no choice to choose between the security or compatibility options, if in fact they do have different settings. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people out there that don’t even know that there are better browsers they can use.
