Twitter has released the major redesign to everyone. As of this writing, you have to ask to have your profile converted to the new format. Yes, it looks a lot more like Facebook with a big emphasis on images. I’ve already updated mine and you can see a screenshot of it below or you can visit it live at https://www.twitter.com/fostercoburn . If you aren’t already following me, please do so while you’re on the page. After the graphic, I’ll explain how to convert your profile.
When you convert, you’ll want to have two graphics available for upload.
The first graphic is the header image and it measures 1500 x 500 pixels. I provided more information on creating this graphic and provided you with a free template at Twitter Header Template Updated for 2014 Redesign.
The second graphic is your profile photo and Twitter suggests it be 400 x 400 pixels. Typically it is a very clear photo of your smiling face. If you don’t have a good headshot of yourself, have someone take a good clear, professional looking, shot of you.
Once you have those graphics created, visit the page where you can request and preview the change. Near the middle of the page is a “Get it now” button. Go ahead and click the button and you’ll be walked through the rest of the process.
