I got a question recently where a user asked about changing the icons for some common commands in CorelDRAW. My answer was quite simple and that would be to use keyboard shortcuts instead. I never use the icons on the Standard toolbar and instead use my fingers to press the appropriate keys.
If you only want to memorize a few shortcut keys, I have some of the best listed below. A benefit of many of these keystrokes is that they also work the same in other Windows software. As you can see from the photo of my keyboard at right, my keys get quite a workout!
- Ctrl + O—Open a file
- Ctrl + N—New file
- Ctrl + S—Save File
- Ctrl + P—Print
- Ctrl + X—Cut
- Ctrl + C—Copy
- Ctrl + V—Paste
- Ctrl + Z—Undo
- Ctrl + R—Redo
- Ctrl + I—Import
- Ctrl + E—Export
- Ctrl + D—Duplicate
- Ctrl + A—Select All
- Ctrl + T—Character Formatting Docker
- Ctrl + Shift + T—Edit Text
- Ctrl + G—Group
- Ctrl + U—Ungroup
- Ctrl + L—Combine
- Ctrl + K—Break Apart
Alignment shortcuts are very handy as well.
That is a gross photo of gunky dirty keys…ewww..
