I saw an interesting quote last week. “Free users want more, paying customers want better quality.” I’ve never thought about it before, but it is very true. There are some loyal readers who are constantly asking me to provide more and more and more free content. They will never purchase anything and have told me that directly. Another group wants me to continually improve the quality of products we release. Of course the paying customers also take advantage of the free content we provide.
You can probably guess that I choose to spend most of my time working on projects that will maximize my bottom line. Sure, I’ll still provide some free content. It just isn’t my highest priority since it doesn’t help pay the mortgage or put food on the table.
Now that you have a little bit of background, I’ll give you a taste of a series of projects that have being progressing in the background.
Users want to know how to complete a task and I’ve written thousands of pages of tutorials explaining how to complete those tasks. Of course I’ll continue to do that. Some of those tasks require more than just instructions and I’ve always tried to provide artwork and automation tools to help you.
With these new projects, I’m trying to combine as much as feasibly possible to allow you to succeed in a particular task. No, they will not be free since the users who demand free only want free. But I will try to provide these kits at a very fair price given the amount of work that has gone into their creation.
When will they be available? I’m not ready to announce an exact release date, though the first one is nearing completion. Ideally I want to release them as soon as possible, but I also want to squeeze in as much as I can and that can take time. What tasks will be covered? My focus is on areas that will help the most readers. I’ll leave you with a graphic from the first product on the calendar.
