I had a loyal reader contact me about a problem he was having when trying to e-mail a file to a vendor for output. He had a logo in CorelDRAW that he converted to PDF. When he tried to attach the PDF file to an e-mail, he was always told that the file was in use by another program.
With the information I was originally provided, I didn’t have any great answers others than trying to figure out what program was still using the file. Before long, he wrote back to tell me how it got resolved. The logo had a graphic element that was provided to him as a bitmap. He re-created that element as a vector. Below the graphic was a line of text that came to him as vector shapes. Since it was vector, he hadn’t tried to re-create it.
It was that text causing the issue. As soon as he re-created it from scratch, he could attach the file without issue. Sometimes you just have to keep digging to find the answer!
I have had this problem several times.and had had to resolve it by saving the file to a hard drive, or flash drive, then emailing from that file. Gary Cuthbertson
