High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography has really exploded in the last few years. Not only do we have powerful software on our computer to expand the range of images, there are also apps for most smartphones.
There are two primary methods for creating an HDR image. You can take a single photo and allow software to process it to create the desired expanded range. While this works, it isn’t as powerful as shooting multiple exposures of a photo and blending them into an HDR image.
One of the best tools for creating HDR images is Dynamic Photo HDR and it has undergone a complete re-write. You can work with either a single image or with multiple bracketed exposures. Some of the highlights of the new version are listed below.
- it is now fully 64-bit application
- in average it is more than 2 times faster than version 5
- clean, logical “step-by-step” re-sizable interface
- template based approach – design your favorite workflow then save it as an template
- all processing is now done in high precision, including all the effects
- effects are now hugely expanded with multiple layers and vast processing possibilities
- unlimited undo
I’ve found that each HDR tool provides different results so it is good to have multiple tools that allow you to get the very best result. You can learn more about Dynamic Photo HDR and download a free trial on the Mediachance Web site. Note that the free trial is fully functional, it just watermarks the output.
