I explained a couple of days ago in Makeover Web Sites For Mobile Devices or Lose Search Traffic how sites that don’t adapt to mobile devices will see a decline in search traffic from Google. Later in the post was a list of sites that have been built in the past six months as new members of the Unleashed family. We’ve also done makeovers or built sites for other businesses so that they will be mobile friendly.
The last part of the post indicated that performing a makeover on the main Graphics Unleashed Web site or on the Graphics Unleashed Blog would be very difficult because of the number of pages involved. Since the most important pages from the main site have re-emerged on the new sites in the Unleashed family, focus will now turn towards a makeover of the blog site.
We are already hard at work on a new site for the blog. We’ll transition most of the posts from the existing site to the new site. If we deem there is no value to an old post, we’ll delete it. Posts about dead products aren’t helpful to anyone.
The new site will be especially nice for those of you visiting the blog on mobile devices. In the Commenting on Posts Can Be Made in Multiple Places post, I mentioned that we had little control over how comments were handled on each post. I’m making sure this will be addressed on the new site so that it will be easier for you to leave comments.
I think you’ll find the end result is well worth it. The new site looks amazing. There will be a number of new features you’ll enjoy and other new features are beneficial to our business. I’ll give you all the details after the transition. Tomorrow’s font post will be the last regular post on the existing blog and our next post will be from the new site.
Those of you who receive either posts in your mail reader daily or as
part of the weekly newsletter won’t have to do anything. If I hadn’t told you a transition was in progress, you may not even know it happened.
