Loyal readers know I’ve been very happy with our switch to RingCentral about eighteen months ago. Most recently I wrote about this switch in RingCentral Provides Much More Than Savings on Phone Service.
In our case, we are using regular cordless phones that are plugged into adapter boxes so that our calls are routed through the Internet. Of course we can also place/receive calls through the computer or a mobile app on smartphones and tablets.
For those who want a phone system designed for VOIP, there are a wide variety of phones available. While I’ve not yet ordered them for our office, I’m strongly considering the Yealink YEA-W52P VOIP Cordless Phone shown at right. With this particular device, you can have up to five handsets and up to five VOIP accounts on each base station.
I love how it has dedicated features built-in and the color screen looks fantastic. There is no doubt that I’ll get this handset or something similar in the future. Amazon currently sells it for $135 which is a lower price than what RingCentral offers if you order from them. If you are using VOIP now or will in the near future, this is definitely a phone to consider.
