Recently I had someone contact me who had purchased the Color Management and Colors Success Kit. This user had created some color management profiles and saved them as presets in CorelDRAW X7. Unfortunately they soon found out that the list of presets had been corrupted and was causing issues with CorelDRAW X7.

I hadn’t had any issues myself when saving my own presets in CorelDRAW X5, X6 or X7 so this incident was very baffling. After a lot of digging, we found that the “/” character had been used in the name of the user’s presets and it was causing the problem.

So no matter the situation or the software, be careful when naming things. Stick to letters and numbers and possible a hyphen. Stay away from other characters because it is possible they either aren’t allowed or they could cause issues if they are used.
