I was preparing an e-mail blast for a client recently and it was decided to switch to a different template. A preview of that template is shown below.
As a designer, I love that the exact widths of the various sections are clearly defined. But when I first saw the template, I knew there would be some issues because the math just doesn’t add up!
When I plugged in images with the widths listed, various elements didn’t look properly centered. No surprise since 315 pixels multiplied by two makes 630 pixels. Add in some white space between those images and it is well more than the 600 above it.
The solution? Use 290 pixel width images instead and all worked well. So pardon me for scratching my head and wondering why the specs listed are wrong.
