As a kid, one of my favorite movies was Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched it over the years. There was even a family vacation where we visited Devils Tower in Wyoming, featured prominently in the movie. Unfortunately no spaceships landed during my visit nor was there a huge landing strip on the backside of the mountain.

One of the early scenes in the movie showed Richard Dreyfuss’ truck being lit up by an alien craft as you can see in the photo below. The significance of this scene will be explained later in this post.

I bring this up because I had a similar encounter the other day. My eyes are always open for interesting clouds in the area so I can take a picture and post it on social media. Hopefully you are following me on Instagram so you can see the pictures I post.

While getting the mail, I loved the cloud formations over Black Mountain and took a quick photo with my phone. Because of the bright sunlight, I couldn’t see the screen of the phone. So I was very pleasantly surprised to find an alien craft trying to beam up a truck when I saw the picture I shot. Yes, I know it is really the rays of the sun. My love of Close Encounters just makes me want to believe it is aliens. You’ll find the picture below as posted on the Graphics Unleashed Facebook page.
