The Big Makeover Nearing Completion

October 6, 2015

If you have ever purchased anything in the Graphics Unleashed Media Marketplace, I urge you to read this entire post as it will have an effect on products you’ve purchased.

It was nearly two and a half years ago that I wrote One Door Is Closing, Another To Be Opened. I knew changes were coming, I just wasn’t sure the new direction at the time it was written. One thing was obvious, the Graphics Unleashed Web site need to undergo a massive makeover.

We often heard from users that there was so much on the site that they couldn’t find exactly what they needed. The best solution was to break out the content to several sites focused on a specific line of products. There were also some issues we wanted to resolve with the functionality in the Graphics Unleashed Media Marketplace, but the cost to resolve them was too high.

Over a year ago, the makeover started. Five new Web sites have been created. If you’ve not yet visited the new sites, I encourage you to follow the links provided to check them out.

CorelDRAW Unleashed

Information and products related to CorelDRAW have been moved to the CorelDRAW Unleashed site. Not every product and not all information have been moved. There are some things that just don’t generate enough interest for us to take the time to move it.

Graphics Unleashed Blog

This post appears on the Graphics Unleashed Blog so hopefully you are already familiar with this new site. We’ve also moved posts from Jeff Harrison’s Daily Diversion into the Graphics Unleashed Blog. In total there are more than 3000 posts spanning more than 10 years! Many of you already have subscribed so you receive posts by e-mail. If you haven’t done so, visit the site now and sign up. It’s free!

Loreto Bay Home Rental

I have a vacation home in Baja Sur, Mexico that I make available for rent. All information related to the rental home has been moved to this dedicated site. If you are looking for a place to get away to a beach, Loreto Bay is the perfect destination.

Seamless Textures Unleashed

If you haven’t noticed, I love to use seamless textures in my designs and they work in so many different situations and software products. All of the Textures Unleashed collections and some new ones are found on the Seamless Textures Unleashed site. Free PDFs are available for all collections so you can find the perfect collection (or collections) for your artwork. Many more collections are coming in the future, so check back often.

Vehicle Templates Unleashed

A huge marketing and design trend is to wrap vehicles in artwork. When someone drives that vehicle, it is a moving billboard. The Vehicle Templates Unleashed site has thousands of templates, many available for free, to help designers create the artwork to put on vehicles.

Web Design Solutions Unleashed

I’ve been designing Web sites for more than 20 years! Much of that work has been done on my own sites. In the past couple of years, I’ve put my skills to work for a number of clients to improve their company’s presence online. If you would like my help, check out the portfolio at Web Design Solutions Unleashed and let me know how I can be of help.

The last step of the process is coming soon and it means the current site will be gone. Yes, we will put up a new site on the domain. But it will not have the content currently found on that domain. This also means the Graphics Unleashed Media Marketplace will be completely gone. If you have purchased something and need to download it, do it now! Once the site is gone, we will no longer be able to access purchase records.

We will likely shut down Graphics Unleashed Media Marketplace in advance of the rest of the site so that no new purchases will be placed. We do have a few more products that will be moved to one of the new sites, but most everything that will be moved has already been moved.

Every now and then someone will ask if the “” domain name is for sale. My answer is always the same. Everything is always for sale at the right price. We definitely plan to keep using the domain, but that could change if someone truly makes an offer I can’t refuse. Suffice it to say, it won’t be a small number.

I hope that by giving all of you enough notice that this makeover won’t cause any of you problems. I’m excited about all of the new sites and how they allow us to continue to grow as a company. This also means we can deliver content that visitors to each of the sites finds interesting and useful.

If you have any comments or suggestions, I’m very interested in your input. But please do not e-mail it to me. Please leave it as a comment on this blog post or on one of our social media platforms.

    Hi Foster
I’m sorry but I have a gripe to air which has been bugging me for a long time. The gripe
is: many of your web pages are continually active. This is indicated by a small bluish
clockwise rotating wheel in the tab. At the bottom-left-corner of the web page I see “Read”.

FYI, I use firefox for all my browsing. This has been occuring for at least a year, through
many releases of Firefox, on your old site’s pages and now on the new pages.

Interestingly, this does not happen with Internet Explorer.

As long as the tab is open to one of the sites, the rotating wheel is active regardless
of whether the tab window is being viewed or not.

I have a screen grab with three of the six windows from the new sites showing the rotating
icon active. The three that don’t show it are “Loreto Bay Home Rental”, “Seamless Textures
    Unleashed”, and “web Design Solutions…”

This really drive me crazy! Any thoughts what may be causing this?

Cheers and thanks for your major contributions to the graphics world. You really do make a

Lloyd, thanks for bringing this to our attention. For what it’s worth, I primarily use Firefox and do not have the same issue. Has it ever happened? Sure. But it is rare. provides an important widget that we incorporate on all of our sites. If you haven’t attempted to clear your browser cache, you might want to do that as it will likely resolve the problem.

Foster, thank you for the reply.
I have tried a bunch of corrective measures including the cache but to no avail. I then discovered an additional problem which was I had lost the ability to save bookmarks – real downer!

After some research at tech support for Firefox I found a solution. A bit drastic but the only thing that ultimately worked. The solution was to perform a “Firefox Reset” – it wipes out your extensions, themes, and customization but preserves bookmarks, history, tabs etc.

That worked for both my problems. Interestingly, my wife’s system had the same issues. I suspect the problem was triggered by a Firefox update in combination with other unknown events/activities???

        Anyway, all is well now.

        All the best – Lloyd

Glad to hear all is well. When things get broken, sometimes the fix can be fairly drastic. Glad you got it all resolved.
