I feel one of the most important pieces of technology for someone working with graphics is a great monitor. Big sizes and high pixel counts are important. But they also usually come with fairly high prices.
The BenQ GW2765HT monitor delivers a 27 inch monitor with 2560×1440 pixels at a reasonable $365 (based on current Amazon pricing). Is it the highest quality monitor at this size and resolution? Of course not. But is a good quality for the price and will likely serve most users very well.
For those of you still working with a smaller, lower resolution monitor; you may want to give this serious consideration to upgrade your productivity.
4k monitor is the way to go 3840 x2160, a 55″ would equal the pixel size of the usual 1980×1024 which was about 27″, be sure to get a multi-year warranty. Yes you will pay about double but for 4 times the pixels and I actually would recommend a bit less than 55″ probably in the 40 to 50 inch area. You will also need a video card capable of driving the above, NVIDIA with 2 Gigs of some type of RAM or more is my recommendation, a quadro for the ultimate. You can use the 19 to 27″ monitor as a 2nd monitor for your emails.
