Last week I featured the Asus Sabertooth Z170 Mark 1 “TUF” Motherboard along with a CPU. Now it is time to add some DDR4 RAM to the motherboard. I’m going to provide two different suggestions and you can determine which one best meets your need.
The motherboard has four DDR4 slots. You can choose to use only two of them with the option to fill the other two later or you can fill all four of them.
First is a suggestion for a kit that is very fast DDR4 RAM, but each stick is 4GB. In the kit are four sticks to give you a total of 16GB. For this, you’d choose PNY Anarchy X 16GB Kit (4 x 4GB) DDR4 2800MHz (PC4-22400) CL16 Desktop Memory (RED) and it currently sells for $114.99 at Amazon. Note the speed of 2800MHz which is very fast with the downside that the computer maxes out at 16GB of RAM.
An alternative is the PNY Anarchy 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR4 2400MHz. It is currently selling at Amazon for $79.99. It costs $40 less and leaves two DDR4 slots open so you could go to 32GB of RAM. Of course it isn’t as fast. You’ll have to choose which solution gives you the desired bang within your budget.
