Many times when converting a logo, the key is determining the fonts used. With a recent project, I really struggled to find the font. Why? Because there were two different fonts used. Below is the original logo that came from a screenshot of the company’s Web site.
I was able to determine the word “Properties” was in the font Book Antiqua. Unfortunately when I tried to use the same font for the “VJ”, it didn’t match at all. So for those letters, I had to use Corel PHOTO-PAINT (or Photoshop if you prefer) to break the two letters apart. This left me with the two graphics below.
Uploading those graphics separately to the WhatTheFont! Web site identified the font as Century Schoolbook. Once I knew the font, it was very easy to re-create the entire logo. The only adjustments I needed to make were positioning of the V and J as well as the spacing in the word “Properties”. Below is my converted version.
