It seems like drones are in the news fairly often and it isn’t always positive news. But they also provide a very powerful tool for getting photos and videos from angles that weren’t easily available in the past. They are also fun!
There are many options available and some of them are fairly inexpensive. I decided to write about a professional tool that is an investment if you want to add drone photography to your business. The DJI Phantom 4 Quadcopter Drone Kit comes loaded with extra accessories as you can see in the photo below.
Video can be shot at up to 4K resolution and still photos are captured at 12 megapixel. On a single battery, it can fly as long as 28 minutes at speeds up to 44.7 mph. You can control it as far as 3.1 miles away. So if you are looking for breathtaking video flying over an area, this could be the perfect tool to add to your graphics toolbox.
How would you rate this compared to the DJI Phantom 3 Pro kit? I just picked up a used one with all the accessories (spare battery, backpack, rotor guides) from a guy in Utah for $800. I hope I got a decent deal, but this is my first drone. Wanted a good camera, collision avoidance, and automatic return to home, but should I have got the 4 instead?
I don’t have personal experience with both so no way for me to make a comparison.
