It seems very common that when Apple releases new hardware, they often make changes that require adapters and dongles. That is certainly the case with the latest editions of the Macbook which doesn’t even allow you to plug in the latest iPhone. You must get adapters.
This is mostly a problem for those who get the new Macbook, though other computers will undoubtedly eliminate the standard USB port at some time down the road. Even if you don’t need an adapter today, you may need one sooner than you think. I’ve listed several different adapters below. Each of them uses an affiliate link for which I receive a small commission from Amazon.
Avacon USB-C Hub
This adapter hub contains three USB 3.0 ports as well as a single USB-C port with power.
Anker USB-C to Micro USB Adapter (2 Pack)
Each of these small adapters accept a male USB-C plug and plug into a female Micro USB port.
Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter
For those with the new Macbook, this may be a must-have. It converts the USB-C port to a hub with USB 3.0, HDMI and USB-C ports. Coming from Apple, it is also the most expensive hub.
Spigen has one that looks very similar and has the same ports as the Apple adapter. Yet it costs less.
nonda USB-C to USB 3.0 Mini Adapter
For those who just want a small adapter from USB-C to USB 3.0, nonda makes what they call the world’s smallest. The picture at right may be larger than the actual adapter depending on where you view this post.
