Tech Gifts That I’ve Personally Enjoyed

December 21, 2016

Each year I write a post each Wednesday after some type of hardware. Maybe I missed one or two weeks throughout the year. Often I write about something because I was looking for a product myself and I have purchased a number of the items for myself. Today I wanted to give you a list of a few of my favorites.

I have purchased all of these and will leave a comment about my usage of the product. Note that the links in each of the referenced posts are many times affiliate links where I receive a small commission. I’ve listed the products in reverse order of the original posts.

AKASO Action Camera Low-Cost Alternative to GoPro

I’d love to give you more details about this cool camera. I’ve ordered one, but it is going to be another day or two before it arrives.

Increase Phone Battery Life With Power Bank

I love it! Others have written to me about bad experiences they’ve had with other products of this type. I’ve had mine for about a month and it has performed exactly as I had hoped. There have been several occasions when my phone was near dead when this power pack filled it back up with juice.

Card Reader Makes Transfer of Data From CF, SD and Micro SD Easy

Over the years I’ve owned at least five similar devices. All of them were fairly flimsy and failed. This one just feels really sturdy in my hand and transfers data as expected.

Roku Streaming Stick Brings Favorite Services to TV

I said that my main reason for getting this was to watch some of my Jayhawk games. I’ve actually watched a few other sporting events that were only available via streaming. In addition, I’ve watched a couple of Amazon videos. When I find more of that elusive free time, I’ll watch more on Amazon.

Regular and Rechargeable Batteries to Keep Your Devices Running

I’ve used both regular and rechargeable batteries from Amazon. The price is right and they just work.

Best Router For Most People — TP-LINK Archer C7

My rental home in Loreto, Mexico had a router that just didn’t put out a good signal. I got this router and the signal improved dramatically. Plus it was really easy to get it all set up.

Fast USB Charging, Cradle and AC Power Outlets Combined

Another product that works great. The cradle on top is perfect for both my phone and my tablet. Also awesome to take an outlet with two plugs and convert it into three plugs with two USB ports. I’m honestly surprised that I’ve only purchased one of them so far.

One USB Cable Connects Most Devices

I laughed when I saw this is the first item from this year that I have purchased. Why? Because it is one of the least expensive items on the list and yet it is one of the most useful. I use it every single day! Sometimes I even have two devices charging on it at once. I’ve yet to have a need for a couple of the plugs, but I’ll be prepared should I need them. In fact, I may need to get a couple more of these.
