While I was in Mexico, I read several books. Most of my reading these days happens on a tablet rather than a typical printed book. Why? It allows me to bring a large library with me so that I have choices of what to read. I have a full-featured Samsung tablet, but I also have an Amazon Fire tablet that can access all the same books. The price differential between the two was significant. For many of you, one of Amazon’s Fire tablets is the perfect choice. No, Amazon didn’t give me a free one. Yes, I’ll earn a small commission if you use one of the links I’ve provided.
The tablets pictured above are the Fire HD 8″ tablets and they start at under $100. Depending on how much memory you want or if you don’t want to see the occasional ad, the price could go up a bit. My Fire tablet has the “special offers” and I barely notice them. So for me, it was worth saving a few extra dollars.
Want something that costs even less? The Amazon Fire 7 fits the bill. It is smaller, has a lower resolution and less memory. But if your main focus is reading, it works just fine.
Either of these tablets is a budget option. Or you could spend hundreds more on a larger Android or iPad tablet. For reading, I really like the budget options.
