When a new version of CorelDRAW is released, one of the questions I often receive is related to the clipart included. Along with that question, I’m also asked if there is a new catalog available for ROMCat.

CorelDRAW X7 is the first version that does not include clipart on the disc (in this case a DVD) with the software itself. For this reason, there is no way for us to provide a pre-built ROMCat since there is nothing on the DVD to catalog.

In our testing, we found that the previous version of ROMCat was unable to read the metadata stored inside of CorelDRAW X7 files. ROMCat v6.4 is an update to the software that will correctly read the metadata (keywords and thumbnails) stored inside of CorelDRAW X7 files. It also has a small bugfix affecting users running in a multi-monitor configuration.

Even though we can’t supply a catalog for the CorelDRAW X7 clipart, keep in mind that the true value of ROMCat is searching through all of the artwork stored on your hard drive. Sure, that can include clipart supplied by Corel though it also includes CDR files you have created. It also includes the clipart supplied at Clipart Unleashed as we do our best to include as many keywords as possible in the artwork we make available.
