The folks at FontShop recently converted 24 of their legacy font families (111 total fonts) into OpenType format. Yes, fonts get upgraded just like other software. Like any software upgrade, I’m sure a fair amount of work into it. Here’s the odd thing about it, they’re giving the fonts away! That’s right, you can download free fonts from one of the major foundries. You will need to create an account at FontShop if you don’t already have one. Inside of the zip files you download, you’ll find the font along with nice PDFs giving you info and specs on each of the fonts. I’m not quite sure why they are giving these fonts away, but you definitely want to get your hands on them while you can.
