I’ve been a fan of the Shark Tank television show since the first season. Some of the companies presenting have turned into huge hits and some of them seem like crazy ideas. Along the way there are tidbits of business advice. In a recent episode, they included a short segment with advice on how to get through the Coronavirus crisis. I encourage you to watch the segment by clicking on the image below.
The Sharks Address The Coronavirus Crisis
Each of the sharks had good advice about a specific aspect of business and the current crisis. Some of that advice may not apply to your business, but you’ll likely find it well worth the two minutes it takes to watch the clip.
One specific piece of advice stood out to me as I was watching. Below is what Lori Greiner had to say:
Don’t look at these times at a setback. Look at them as an opportunity. Start to improve your social media presence. Improve your Web site. Do the things that you never had time to do before. Get active!
I’ve had these same thoughts and it has already paid off for several of my clients. Some of them had been so busy that I hadn’t been able to get all the information I needed to finish their new Web site designs. Whether they were truly too busy or it was just an excuse, the projects finally got done in the last month.
With other clients, I’ve seen their online sales skyrocket in the last two months. Yes, I’m sure their brick and mortar sales have slowed dramatically. While the online sales increase may not completely make up for the in-store sales lost, it is a big help to keep them going. I also have no doubts that their online sales will continue to improve even when shoppers come back to their retail store.
Improving the Web site is vitally important, but you also have to work to get more visitors on the site. That’s where the improvement across your social media channels comes into play. Combine the two together and you can seek a big improvement in your business.
For those who want help taking their Web presence to the next level, I’d love to discuss your situation with you. To turbocharge your social channels, reach out to Katie Leiler and she’ll take great care of you.
