Undocumented Apply to Duplicate Button in CorelDRAW X5

April 28, 2011

Last week I told you about a quick, but hidden, way to create a bounding box in CorelDRAW. Sometimes it is hard for me to know what little tips users already know and what they don’t know. That one must have hit the spot for many users as I got a lot of e-mails about it. There is another very hidden feature in CorelDRAW X5 that gives users a way to do something that was more obvious in previous versions.

In the Transformation Docker, the Apply to Duplicate button was removed in CorelDRAW X5. It was replaced with a box for entering the number of copies. Want the Apply to Duplicates button back? I know I missed it at first, but then I found the hidden trick that means I don’t need it. Just hold down the Ctrl key while clicking Apply and you’ve got it back.

Of course I see users struggling to learn CorelDRAW all the time. I get frustrated when I know I have a solution for them in my CorelDRAW X5 Unleashed Multimedia Training. There are hundreds of tips like the one above for saving you valuable time on your projects. It is a small investment that will pay off with greatly enhanced productivity.
