The JOBY Wavo POD Multi-Pattern Large Diaphragm USB-C Studio Condenser Microphone is made for podcasters and streamers which means it could more higher-end than is truly needed for video calls. I’ve always felt that it is good to be prepared and having a clear way to capture your voice is a good thing even on basic tasks.

It offers both cardioid and omnidirectional recording patterns, a built-in headphone port as well as onboard controls for volume, mute and gain. It also provides a pop-filter (the red screen) to filter out undesired pops. There are also several screw mounts so that you can get it positioned perfectly for recording. Included in a small U-shaped mount.

For those who truly need professional quality, this is probably not the microphone for you. But it delivers a very good microphone at the price point that makes it a great value.
